MOTT GALLERY OF HISTORY AND ART
Just 36 miles south of I-94 on highway 8 is the lovely town of
water piped to each residence, and folks are proud of their flowers, lawns and gardens. After a leisurely drive through town, stop at the Mott Gallery of History & Art in the center of Mott’s business district. The gallery, housed in the historic bank building, offers much about the history of the area, as well as the work of many local artists, including painters, woodworkers and needle craft artisans. Upon entering the museum folks may greet the “Biker Thinker”, a life-size metal sculpture by local artist, Raymond Oscar Rogers. His artwork includes metal, bronzes and many sketches which are shown throughout the museum. Another item of special interest is a world globe. Mott is proud of its gallery. Future plans are unfolding to add an annex that will house larger farming displays and equipment. Come and enjoy a look at Mott’s past.
