We are know as the pheasant capital of North Dakota.
Many local farmers cultivate habitat on their land for pheasant and they allow hunters access for a fee. Be advised that accommodations are at a premium during the opening of the various hunting seasons.
Your stay will be more pleasant and hassle free if you have a place to stay arranged before you leave home. The towns of Hettinger county are filled with good, friendly people.
Sportsmen are always welcome here and we hope your time with us is pleasant and rewarding.
Deer hunting is always good in Hettinger county along with some nice size antelope.

Land is available in the Mott area for youth hunting. This is a program for boys and girls from twelve to eighteen years old and is sponsored by the M.O.T.T group (PO Box 37 Mott, North Dakota.) To use this land, written permission must first be obtained. Call Ben Olien at 701-824-2243 or call Fitterer Sales at 701-824-3149 and ask for Danny. Donations are appreciated.
Public Land Open to Sportsman (PLOTS) is available to all hunters. The annual PLOTS guide locates lands open to hunting through agreements between the ND Game and Fish Department and private landowners, as well as public lands such as wildlife management and waterfowl production areas.
